Default 2008 1200 Low Anniversary

I am looking at a 1200 Low Anniversary with about 12k miles on it. Just looking for feedback on the low. Have compared specs to other HD's and the term Low is deceiving. The seat height is actually higher than most other HD's. Anyway wanting a bike to run around and play on while I wait for my Ducati Scrambler to come in next April. Garage is empty as I sold my Triumph Bonneville. I do like sportsters and thought this would be a good bike to customize in the future. Am an older dirt rider (55) so like the peg position under me. I 6' so hopefully won't feel cramped. Any input on the low? Good, Bad, likes, dislikes?
Thanks

I have an 07 1200 Low. You are right, it's low only when compared to the Custom and the Roadster, both Sportsters. I think most dynas are lower.

My bike is almost all stock; it runs very smooth. Everything is great except for the stock shocks: there is no difference between the softest and the firmest setting... unless you're a feather-weight I guess. The front fork sags a lot too. You'll need a fix that matches your weight when it comes to suspension and seat.

Other than that, I feel it's a great bike.

HTH.

They are still around, if you live in the right part of the World! We still get the 883R over here in the UK. Better ride height and ground clearance than all other Sporties, plus twin front brakes, so well worth keeping an eye out for.

Just to tease ya, here we go!

Hehehe HD1044, I see you already met Sir Graham. Get used to his British superiority

Yeah, I hear you about the roadster. I actually have Roadster shocks and roadster damper tubes on my Low. I wish I could change the front brakes to twin as well but it's gonna be too expensive.

There are many models we don't get, so we have to brag when we can!

I run a 2008 with 130KM on the clock, has a few eccentricities but all in all well worth the extra money I spent. As I understand the 1200 is the most dependable motor HD makes.

Try it, you'll like it.

If you get the sportsters and the new dyna low Rider, I reckon that's what matters. I couldn't care less for the other models. And, no offence Sir Graham but I wouldn't be caught dead riding that blue and white sofa of yours

You'd love it - over 100/100, all manner of upgrades - a stealth rocket-ship!
