Default I felt dumb

So today I was riding. Just crusin along going about 35 MPH

I Kept hearing a rattle.....It only happend when I was gunning the throttle....I felt around and couldn't figure out what was loose

I was starting to think it was my primary chain.

Then I put my hand on my gas cap..........silence

I felt dumb for half a minute. But happy it was something small.

I was riding into work and kept hearing something. 20 minutes later when I got to work my brass rack I made was hanging by one screw sideways on the fender. Now I got lock tight on the screws.

Windshield nuts are bad about coming loose too, even with blue locktite.

Why feel dumb? You heard a noise you didn't recognize, you troubleshot, you fixed it. You didn't run to the dealership, you didn't run to the forum for tons of well meaning advice a little ribbing. Admitting you didn't tighten your gas cap in the first place, your right, kinda dumb.

+1. At least you did not ride off without it after you fueled up (of course no one has ever done that ...)

Count your blessings - better a loose gas cap than a side stand down when it should be up, or up when it should be down.

It's a ratcheting gas cap and it still rattles even when tight. It's getting annoying. The price for a new gas cap is ridiculous
