Clutch adjustment?

Pulling in the clutch lever doesn't actually pull the clutch apart. It simply provides the room for the clutch to come apart on its own.
So it's fairly normal for the bike to jump slightly when shifting into first if the bike was left parked in neutral for a long time (e.g. overnight or for several hours). If there's a significant jump, or if the jump happens even after sitting for only a few minutes, then something's not quite in adjustment, but if it's just happening first thing in the morning or first thing when you get on it to ride home after work, it's not something I'd worry about.

Check it. Go on youtube and do a search. Sporty is one of the easy ones to adjust but slightly different the the bigger cruisers. But yes, the answer is when you pull the clutch in with it in gear, it will tug fwd. Mine does it twice as much since it got cool. I can pull the clutch in in gear and push it back with my butt and fill the oil stuck plates break free. It's all I can do when I first push. Once it goes back about a foot, it tugs fwd very little when I hit the key. However, check it. I would not risk my clutch or have it cause an accident when it gets hot.

To answer questions:
Yes I own a manual, yes I used harley primary oil and yes I soaked the plates.
It does only happen when I first start it up, so perhaps it's fine. I followed the harley adjustment of the clutch to the letter so I don't think it's that. Thanks for the help everyone! You all are the best!
