Sportster paint issue?
Hi all,
I bought a brand new 2014 Sportster this past weekend. Picked up from the dealer on Tuesday after work.
I didnt notice it then but yesterday when i was getting off of the freeway on my way home, i saw what looked like a grey sport or something on the tank. Tried to wipe it off with my glove and that didnt work. when i got home i sprayed it with some Lucas Spray Wax and that didnt help either. Also tried some regular past wax.
I tried my best to get a picture of it, its difficult buy you can slightly see it in the picture. It looks to me to be either a thin spot in the paint or Silver overspray.
My question, is it even worth my time to go to the dealer with this issue? Will they just "laugh" me out of there and tell me i spilt something on it (nothing has been spilled on this bike) or if they do fix it do you think it'll be a month long repair?
Heres a pic, hard to see i know

When I bought my 2014 Sportster Superlow it had a place on the tank that wouldn't wipe off. I showed it to the service manager before I left the dealership. He told me not to worry that he would get me a new tank if it didn't come out.
I hit it with a little rubbing compound when I got home and it came right out so no problem.

As long as it wasn't something that you did, it eems to me that it should be a guarantee issue - you won't know the answer until you take it to the dealer and talk to them about it. Be nice, be reasonable and good luck. I would let the dealer see it before trying a "home cure" which could make it worse.
