Default Tire advice

So after blowing the fuel pump in my truck on Friday. Today I picked up a nail in the front tire of my 2014 sportster. My tire was a Michelin scorcher 31 130/80 b16. Any opinions on replacing with another scorcher or a tire such as the Dunlop?

Michelin Commander II. If it's not worn (a '14 model is questionable) why not just plug it or replace the tube?

Is it safe to plug a tubeless tire on a motorcycle? The tire only has about 3500 miles on it and the screw is off to the right side of the contact patch. This is my first street bike. With a car I would definitely plug.

Plug and patch it and you should be ok. Don't go to the dealer and ask for a replacement, unless you want to be shocked!

Thanks for the advice! I have already found a great independent shop that does any work I am not comfortable doing and have a copy of the service manual.

correct: replace it

don't risk your life to save $109 - people somewhere depend on you to show up (alive and in one piece)...

If it's past the tread in the side wall get ride of it. If you want good tires for riding it like you stole get Pirelli Night Dragons, I have used them on 2 bikes and they are great traction tires, you'll swear it's a different bike afterwards.
