Default Stealers

So I called my Stealer who I have bought 3 bikes from in less than a year. My wife wants her own bike nowso I said lets go
find you one. I get a qoute from him and it's 1000.00 over msr.
You would think they would take care of the good customers but
I guess not.So I call around find a stealer 20min. from the house
he said I can get the same bike for 900.00 less. Just does not make any sense.

3 bikes in a year? You'd think they would take care fo you? Pretty much every dealer out here sells at MSRP.

At least you can go elsewhere I would have to travel 180 miles for the next stealership, tell them to pound salt and then ride over there on the new scoot and tell everyone how you got a better deal 20 min away. Maybe next time they will work with you

It's a shame...Like Tek 679 said though, your pretty lucky. I would have to go about 160 miles to the next stealership.

Why would he go back to the first dealer for a "next time"? I certainly wouldn't. I would just let the first dealer know, I'd found a new dealer I'll be doing business with in the future.

They are just trying to make a buck...I bought a bagger that was advertised at $1500 of MSRP...called the dealer and told himI was coming. 100 miles later I walk into dealer...what kinda deals ya got? "Only on Sportys..."
"Do you want me to go out to the car and get your add?" andI got the deal...
They gotta at least TRY to cheat everyone..don't always work...

My stealer told me that Harley's "sell themselves". I thought that was pretty arrogant. I should have mentioned that they weren't the only dealer around that sells HD's.

Why do you have to go into a dealer with your butt cheaks squeezed shut all the time???

It is true statement that they sell themselves. If you don't buy it someone else will. Its not an excuse for delaers not wanting to cut you a break but if you were in their shoes and knew you could make $1000 more on the next guy..... its simple math.

From this side of the sales desk it is frustrating I agree. Been there, tried to buy that. I ended up driving by 6 dealers on the way to the one I bought my Springer from.

Berryp, what kind of a deal did you get on the firts three? Maybe you just used up their good graces on the those. If he already sold you three and now you are back again he knows you are a sure thing.

Anyway, sorry to hear it wasn't as easy this time around. Hope you get what you want in the end.

Did you tell them you'd bought 3 from them before? Maybe you should,ve told them you'd bought them and WTF about not getting a deal on another one? Remember: like car dealers, these people are vultures. Anything they can do to make more money they'll do. It's not personal. Just business.

Just try to get a Stortster from a deal near me. Here they only order 1 or 2 883's and about 6 1200's for the entire year. Why, because the less expensive the bike the less they make. Their profit margin is very low on Stortsters. They even refuse to order you one. I ask both the dealers in my area Monday when I went shopping to buy and was told by the first that they might get some more in an about 4 weeks but he couldn't guarantee it. The second place told me that they had their quota for the year and could not order any more (how can Harley not fill an order for a bike, no matter how many the dealer already ordered?). Aren't they in business to sell as many bikes as possible?

I also noticed that they had plenty of $20,000 softails there.
