Unhappy Need to put on turn signals and horn!! HELP!

Hello,

Long story short:
-I am a total newb to bikes but love them as well as cars
-Not mechanically inclined at all
-Bought custom 2000 Sportster 883(Bored to 1200 wiseco pistons), S&S Carb, electric ignition, rear frame chopped off
-Bought it from out of state seller
-My state(NY) requires turn signals and horn...

I have no idea what to do now. Now that I'm actually faced with this problem I'm really intimidated and have good reason to be lol.

First I need the signal and horn switch housing, actually have to physically install the signals and horn on to the bike....then the electrical wiring..

Are there any kits out their put together to make things much easier?

The biggest problem aside from the electrical part is where in the world do I install the rear turn signals with the rear frame chopped off?

Also where would I install the horn?

Lastly would a housing like this work?
http://www.ebay.com/itm/Tusk-Lights-...337235&vxp=mtr

Please any help would be greatly appreciated.

I'm young and stupid but I really loved the bike and of course it didn't hit me how difficult this would be till a few days after the purchase...

Thank you

that switch should work fine..you can mount the turn signals to the top bolt on the shock towers, or maybe even the rear foot pegs...I would take the bike to the guy who is doing the inspections and ask him exactly what you need as far as lighting and where on the bike it needs to be, such as do you need front and rear turn signals and can the rear signals be on the handlebars (facing backwards) or do they need to be on the rear of the bike, that way you only have to do the mods once...the wiring should not be too tough all you need are the switch, lights and relays for the horn and turn signals ...there should already be a place to install the fuses and relays in the fuse box..

Do you plan on keeping the horn and turn signals after the inspection?

Like mrfikser mentioned, finding out what all you need. Some of the wiring and replays might already be on the bike. Did you ask the guy you bought it from?

I've seen guys get by inspections using regular old bicycle horns like in the link below..

How does one mount it to the top bolt on the shock towers? I know what you are talking about but I don't quite understand how some of these lights mount/clamp on...

The rear signals will definitely have to be on the back of the bike unfortunately.

Where is the fuse box usually?

How do I know what type of relays to get?

I may actually really need the signals and horn fortunately. I'm a total noob so I will need to be always riding defensively. I'm young so I'm trying extra hard not to get ahead of my self and try my best to lower my chances of becoming a statistic...

Would I be able to make these work for the turn signals on the handlebars without making it look totally ridiculous??

http://www.aliexpress.com/item/1p-DP...649918451.html

Also this for the horn?

http://www.jpcycles.com/product/360-101

http://www.jpcycles.com/product/360-0211

http://www.jpcycles.com/product/360-0210

It says that the needed relay for the wolo horn comes with the horns them selves according to the description for the wolo horn button+wiring package.

Also do you guys know if those wolo horns I posted come with a mounting bracket?

Thanks!

where in ny are you ? if you run into problems u can swing by and ill try an help you wire up whatever setup you want or choose to go with

im sure all the wiring is still there - probly just cut and hidden tucked away ..
as far as a horn button u need a momentary on/off push button type
which could be mounted in the web of the neck or on the side cover

the turn switch youll need a 3 way toggle switch or the setup you picked

if you want signals that dont take away from the look u should look into the
custom dynamic tru wrapz -

and for the rear go with the tru flex
it will stick up under the fender

or use the true flex for both applications just the yellow /amber color for front and rear

"the turn switch youll need a 3 way toggle switch or the setup you picked" Which were you referring too?

I posted quite a few links so just making sure.

Ahh I was actually looking at those and thinking to my self that would at least making mounting so much easier!! It's still just the wiring and buttons that would leave me totally hanging.

But the biggest question I have as of now is they actually pass NY inspection?

oh the toggles you posted are fine but - those are momentary -

which means you will have to hold the switch to keep it blinking -
where as a nornaml switch will stay in place and have to be pushed back to off to turn off which would be better as you dont want to be sitting at a light holding the switch..
