springer style solo seat for late model sportster
Hey Guys, I've been working on some new seats for 04-up sportster. I wanted to make a springer seat but I'm not a fan of a springer seats on a non-hardtail bike so I came up with what I think is a pretty good solution. I basically made a springer seat and installed low profile rubber stoppers (instead of springs) and a contoured front bracket to get the seat low to the frame. The rubber dampens most of the road vibration and still allows the seat to sit apart from the frame to give the bike the bobber look. Here's some pics. Please give me some feedback and let me know what you think.

i think it looks great, but the real question is; how does it ride? It seems like it would be painful for anything more than a quick commute to work. But as far as looks, I think you're right, having the springs and the exposed rear shocks does look goofy sometimes. I think this is a good looking solution.
