Default springer style solo seat for late model sportster

Hey Guys, I've been working on some new seats for 04-up sportster. I wanted to make a springer seat but I'm not a fan of a springer seats on a non-hardtail bike so I came up with what I think is a pretty good solution. I basically made a springer seat and installed low profile rubber stoppers (instead of springs) and a contoured front bracket to get the seat low to the frame. The rubber dampens most of the road vibration and still allows the seat to sit apart from the frame to give the bike the bobber look. Here's some pics. Please give me some feedback and let me know what you think.

i think it looks great, but the real question is; how does it ride? It seems like it would be painful for anything more than a quick commute to work. But as far as looks, I think you're right, having the springs and the exposed rear shocks does look goofy sometimes. I think this is a good looking solution.

I should've mentioned the comfort level. I spent several days experimenting with different foams and I found some really good stuff. It's a blue open cell foam that's pretty dense but not to stiff to be pretty comfy. I had some of my local customers ride the seat for a few days here and there and I got surprisingly positive feedback. It's actually more comfy than the stock seat. I know that's not saying much. Dont get me wrong, it's no overstuffed couch seat but it's not bad for a low profile bobber seat IMHO

Nice looking seat, am going to be building my next one similar to that with the drop front hinge to keep it low.

It looks really good! Maybe it's just me but it maybe best suited for bar-hopping or short commutes. JMHO though ...

Nonetheless you would get full marks in creativity and the looks department.
