For theNGK Iridium plug it only listsSportsters from 1985 - 2003 & quotes the DCPR7EIX type. Is this plug suitable for an '05, 883 Sportster? Thanks. Mike.

Hi Mike, if there weren't any engine changes from 03 to 05, the plug would be the same. If you're unsure, or if there was an engine change, the easiest way to find your recommended plug would be your owners manual, or by calling a dealer to get their recommended part number. From there, we should be able to cross that part number into any brand and plug type that you're looking for.

Unfortunately, it takes the spark plug manufacturers 1-2 years after a vehicle is released before they have updated recommendations for those vehicles. So at the end of 06, we just started to see more thorough, complete 04 recommendations, and some sparse 05.

I'm running 4265 Autolite's in my 96" S&S Motor. Run's good, any other recommendations? Are the NGK's worth changing over to?

I fitted NGK IX Iridium plugs a while back & noticed an immediate difference. Faster starting, much smoother idle, marginally better fuel economy & I think (although it could be wishful thinking!!) that the acceleration is better. They are supposed to be good for a minimum of 25,000 miles, so whilst they are initiallyquite expensive they are cheap in the long run. I kept my'standard' plugs as spares as they had only done a couple of thousand miles. The NGK's get my vote.

I had a SE 103" kit put in my bike, is the spark plug the same when switching to iridium? That is would I use the TwinCam88 plug in the 103"?

i've purchased the NGK iridiums for my 04 carbed bike. I have bought a 08 HD model with fuel injection. I have read in the past that some plugs will throw a trouble code on the fuel injected bikes. Will the NGK iridiums throw a code on my bike
