I was hoping to get some information on place to stop or see while we are on our trip next week.

We are leaving SLC and heading south to Kingman AZ, then East along Route 66 to Williams. From there we're going to do the South Rim of the Grand Canyon and over to Four Corners, ending the day in Cortez CO. The next day we will head back to SLC, through Moab and Arches National Park.

We have only scheduled about 5 hours of ride time per day, so we have time to check things out. So if anyone has taken a similar route or if you have traveled along any of these roads, are there places you stopped or visited that you would suggest, or even better, steer clear of? Any suggestions or ideas would be greatly appreciated. Even better, if you are in the area and want to join us, jump in!

 

take a detour southwest of Kingman to Oatman, great place to ride to for Breakfast. You can feed them, but don't try to ride them!!

 

I'll second Oatman, you can also go to the Hackberry General store in Hackberry or the RoadKill Café in Seligman.

 

Drop into Sedona the Red rocks are awesome and oak creek canyon is a nice ride.
