Spring Break Ride

Spring Break Ride
Weatherman said it was to get up to 80 here in North Texas, so I decided since it was Spring Break I needed to take "Ethel" for a spin.
The Wichita Mountains Wildlife Refuge is just about an hour away up I 44. I left about 11:00 A.M. and it was a perfect day for a ride. What little wind there was, was at my back for the trip north (I'm in Wichita Falls, TX and the refuge is just North of Lawton, OK). Traffic was almost non-existant, so it was a pleasant ride on the Interstate.
When neared the refuge, I could tell that I wasn't the only one who was going to take advantage of the weather. There were multiple riders everywhere (this is a very popular riding spot in the Texoma area).
The Buffalo and Longhorns were close to the road, so it was easy to get a good look at them (sometimes they're shy, and stay away from the lookers).
After riding around the refuge, I took a scenic drive up Mt Scott.
Finally, I headed home. Traffic was still light and the ride was so enjoyable that when I arrived I loaded up the wife and my son and we headed right back to eat at the Meers Store (the best "Longhorn" Burger you've ever tasted).
I took some photos and attached them (hope I didn't bore you with this long story and the seemingly endless photos), it was just a great day for a ride and a great place to take advantage of it.
The first photo is a great little bike shop in Medicine Park, OK. Right in the middle of the Wichita Mountains (love the name).
