Houston area rides -- route suggestions?
Okay, okay -- knowing that we don't necessarily live in the greatest part of Texas, let alone the U.S., for quick 2-3 hour rides, I'm wondering if you have found any good "can't miss" roads in our area...
It is a given that the Sam Houston Forest is a good bet. But what about the areas south of town?
Suggestions, please. Just trying to expand my options here... Thanks in advance.

RE: Houston area rides -- route suggestions?
I've got a group of folks for whom I do some ride planning. Any routes you have would be appreciated... And I'd be glad to give you a shout if / when we get in your neighborhood.... I'm in the Clear Lake Area (between Houston and Galveston) where everything is flat, brown, or framed in refinery steel gray.....

Daughter used to live in Clear Lake area... know just what you mean! lol
When it warms up a bit I'll give ya a hollar... can go on an adventure.
*When my kids would ask if I was lost I would tell them we weren't lost.. we were on an adventure, just haven't gotten there yet*
Love riding for the journey - not the destination......

There are all kinds of nice riding around Houston. You can go Conroe, Montgomery, Anderson area. Or you can go through Richmond, Fulshear, Brookshire, Katy area. Or you can go through Sealy and ride Cat Springs, Bellville, Brenham. Or you can extend even farther and go to Round Top, New Ulm, Fayetville area. Just get the mapquest dialed in and start looking! Good luck with your riding!
