SoCal ride Sep 18, 2010
I posted this on the Pacific ride forum and figured I'd post it here also in case anyone would like to ride over to Cali for this (or any other reason ). I will be riding since this is one of my organizations.
California Domestic Ferret Educational Alliance will hold their annual Ferret Fun Ride in Southern California on September 18, 2010. Visit www.ferreted.org and click on the events page for further details. The ride will begin at Tom's Farms Restaurant and end at Cook's Corner in Trabuco Canyon.
CDFEA is a 501c3 non profit organization dedicated to ferret education and advocacy. It is also the only organization legally authorized by the California Department of Fish and Game to shelter abandoned, seized or abused domestic ferrets in the state. California is the only one of the contiguous 48 states that does not recognize the domestic ferret as a house pet.
Proceeds from this ride benefit CDFEA's shelter and educational programs.
Please, no flames about bike rides for ferrets! The fact is that California sells 27% of all ferret supplies in the United States, giving it the highest pet ferret population in the US in spite of their illegal status there. CDFEA depends solely on donations from the public and receives no state or federal funds for assistance in their sheltering program.
