When I was living in Scottsdale in '95 we used to ride out to the Desert Rose for their burgers. The burgers were unusually hot (spicy) so I wouldn't worry if they run out of chili. The place is out in the middle of nowhere, west of the nuclear plant.

Wish I was there.

Oh, we've been there. Using the chili ride just as an excuse to get out!

It seems like I heard the cook off starts at noon, so we will miss the start. Not sure where I got that, the Desert Rose website is short on details.

I road most of the route yesterday, skipped Gila Bend and Arlington since I was just here a couple of weeks ago. All of the roads are OK, bridge in Florence is done and back to 2 lanes but pretty bumpy Unfortunately no gravel for Tony. A little slow getting thru some of the towns.
I found a Shell station in Casa Grande that would make a good meeting spot, the address has been added to the ride plan.

Yeah, it's in the sig pic. You just can't see the bag cause it's on the other side.

Tony,

Are you guys coming up I10 to Casa Grande? I thought you were going thru Globe and meeting us in Florence?
The Shell station address is in the ride plan now. It is just west of I10. Take the Florence Blvd. exit go west just a bit and you will see it on the north.
