Looking to make this trip in early Oct. Staying off the interstate Alamogordo, Carrizzo, Mountainair, Tijeras (via 55 & 337) to Madrid. Anything I should be aware of, I have never been north of Carrizozo in the middle of the state.

Hey, ya looking for tag alongs?? Annie and I have been wanting to do that trip also. BTW, I rode 54 from Santa Rosa to Alamogordo years back on my way back from Ohio and it was a nice piece of road then, I don't know about now.

Sorry Cayers: But I don't think you will be having lunch a Maggie's. When we were there in June, Maggie's was an empty building. The building that Maggie's was in was special built for the movie. Not up to code for business use. The guy next door had just bought it, and was upgrading it to code. He has a shop next door selling Wild Hogs stuff, and planed to move into Maggie's but with no food or drink. Too bad still it is fun to watch the movie after being there and knowing the town.

 

Harry, we planned to have a piece of pie there, what a surprise . Just a front . No Maggies.

 

(and the guy next door can be kind of a jerk)
