2009 N.Texas Feed the Kids and Food Drive
Texas Riders Helping Texans, Inc. TRHT is fast becoming THE Largest Motorcycle Rider Food Drive Organization in the State of Texas.
It's that time of year again folks, our TRHT Annual Feed the Kids and Food Drive for the North Texas Area kicks off on August the 30th, 2009, 11am to 6pm.
Yes, a one day benefit at The New FAT DADDY'S in Mansfield, TX. This year we are supporting the Tarrant Food Bank and North Texas Food Bank which totals 26 Texas Counties. This means every Rider, MC Club, Group, Dealership, Business, Shop Owner, Vendor and Citizen's that resides and works in this selected community can help in one way or the other. Let's make a difference this year to help us help others.
Entry at the door is simple, 3 Cans of Food or $5 per rider/person minimum, children under 12 free, and everyone is invited! All Food items stays local and all Fund Donations stay in Texas for Children Related Feeding Programs, administrated by the Texas Food Bank Network.
GENERAL 2009 TRHT EVENT INFORMATION
We are an adult group of motorcycle riders and enthusiasts with a statewide presence in Texas. As we rode the highways of Texas and talked with people we met, we became very aware of the economic hardships suffered by many. We became aware of the increased requests being made at the Food Banks across our state and the need for good nutrition for children. As a result, we held a one day benefit, in August 2008, to raise money and food for a local food bank. For our first attempt, we were very successful.
We wanted to do more and decided to form a Texas non-profit corporation. Texas Riders Helping Texans, Inc. is now a public charity with an IRS status of 501 (c) (3). All donations of money, food, merchandise, services, etc. are tax deductible. No member of TRHT is compensated for their services. All donations of food are sent to the local area food banks in the event area. All proceeds, after expenses, are specified for Texas children’s food programs. We have also sponsored an event in Lockhart, Texas in 2009.
At this time, we raise funds and food by holding one day events across the State of Texas. This year’s 2009 North Texas event will be held at Fat Daddy’s Sports and Spirits Café in Mansfield, Texas, August 30 from 11:00 A.M. to 6:00 P.M. The area food banks serve twenty-six counties from two central locations. We will solicit many different businesses for donations of money, goods and services. All goods and services will be sold through live auctions or raffles on the day of the event. We will have bands, bike washes and lots of fun activities at this event.
Whether you ride a motorcycle or not, you can make a difference by helping TRHT help the children of Texas with food and nutrition programs through our events. Make a donation of money or merchandise. Attend the event. Meet new people. You can make a difference in someone’s life that is presently less fortunate than you. Help us help others.
