Default Las Vegas NM, to Taos NM

I'm coming thru this area and was going to take highway 518 between the two cities. Then somebody mentioned it might be snow covered (a helicopter just crashed there because of snow?). Is that possible? Is there a different route I should take? Thx in advance.

There won't be any snow on that road at this time of the year.
Enjoy the ride.

Ditto on what galtjunk said. I came thru there last August and it would have been a great ride had it not been raining and dark. I would love to ride that road when the weather is good.
