A group of us did last year during the river run. Rode from Phoenix up 89a through Sedona to Flagstaff the first day. 2nd day went out I-40 to the Petrified Forest and Painted Desert and back to Flagstaff. 3rd day took Lake Mary Road to Payson and 188 to Globe. 4th day went to "Screw Laughlin" at Roosevelt Lake and back to Globe. 5th day back to Phoenix.

We were in full leathers in the mornings and evenings around Flagstaff and on Lake Mary Road. During mid day most of the gear came off when we dropped to lower elevations. The weather held up well and we had no rain on the trip.

The Petrified Forest, Payson, Globe and Roosevelt Lake were all t-shirt weather. The higher elevations cool off quick when the sun goes down.

While in the Sedona area, take Hwy 89A to Jerome, a great biker town and great ride. Then continue south to Prescott. Old Town in Flagstaff is also a good place for eats.
