Default Where's the best place to move for retirement?

Ok ... NOW, I need your expert advise. Hubby and I are toying with the idea of retiring ... someday...for now we're ready to join the ranks of "Snow Birds". Considering THIS is a good time (so they say) to buy a house down in your parts, where should we be looking.

Don't have a lot of specifics other than a safe area and ... from a biker's perspective ... somewhere where there is good riding...and warm! We're kinda thinking as far north as Vegas and far south as Texas/Arizona. Somewhere that has nice riding temps during our winter months (Jan - March).

The only thing holding us up right now is the exchange rate. It's in the toilet right now and I understand it's going to get worse ... But, we are still 'toying' with the idea.

Any suggestions?

I second that. My wife and I will retire to South Padre Island in a few years.

My wife and I own a condo on South Padre Island, so we get down there as often as possible. I too have a friend in Weslaco and have been there several times. I am by no means an expert on the inner part of the Rio Grande Valley, but I've been in and around enough to tell you there are some very pretty places to ride. I was stationed on the island in the Coast Guard in the mid '70s and rode my old panhead all over the valley.
