Dallas Recommendations?
We're planning a trip to Dallas in the early spring to see a new grandson that's on his way. My wife and I are flying as the weather is so unpredictable here and en route to TX that time of year. I'm wondering if there's anyone out there that can recommend a good Dealer to rent from while there, and any recommended sights that are a must see? Food recommendations are always appreciated as well. Oh, and thanks again to all the Indy residents that helped out our trip there for the MotoGP races. All the recommendations were great. Appreciate any input.

I flew into Dallas a few years ago and I thought the airport was the city, that's how big it is.
I checked out one dealer and Rick Fairless' Strokers while I was there...Speaking of Strokers, I haven't heard about them in a long time, they still in business??
I know the above has nothing to do with what you asked but I'm bored tonight....

Well, I'm kinda like the previous post. I stopped at Longhorn Harley Davidson in Grand Prarie and bought a T-Shirt. I was just passing through on my way home from San Angelo to Monroe back in the summer. They had a real nice store, but I only had a minute to stay, don't know if they had rentals or not. But they are right on I-20, should be fairly easy to find. Dallas is a big place and I can't recommend any sights to see, but if you ride be carefull of the traffic, they'll run over you out there.

Jake's joint in Plano, TX has some of the best burgers I have ever eaten. Their Mushroom/swiss burger rocks!

If you want to put some miles on you're rental, check out the Hullabaloodiner. It's 3.5 hours down from where I live. We usually leave around 8:00am and get there for lunch and do a little riding down there and head back before it gets dark (which might be aroudn 3:00pm in the winter).

I'm sure you will get plenty of suggestions so I'll stop at two.

Definately take the time to ride to the hill country. Specifically the roads called the three sisters (county roads 335, 336, 337). You could ride down, the three sisters and back in a real easy 8-9 hours of riding. Well worth the time.
While going to the hill country if you go through Marble Falls, stop at the Blue Bonnett Cafe.
