Default Hill Country

Hi, interested in riding the hill country. Live in Lafayette Louisiana, so any advice as to lodging, riding and good places to eat would be a big help.

Welcome to the Forum. I am far from an expert on Hill Country riding, but I am trying to gain more knowledge. Have you searched the Forum for "Three Sisters"? There are several threads and posts on them. An absolute "Must Ride". Depending on your plans... I would suggest searching a room in Beorne. It is a short ride from there to the beginning of the Three sisters loop, and it is a large enough town to have plenty of motel choices. You can go west one day to the sisters, watch for txmotofoto sighn. They will be out taking pictures again, starting in September...you can log onto their web site and get your pic. You can go Northeast toward Fredricksburg another day...and you will be about 15 minutes from Luckenbach. Boerne will have many choices of cusine. There are a couple of good places on the three sisters loop...The Hog Pen in Leaky, and a new place just a couple of blocks west toward Camp Wood (from the hog pen) on the left....It was OK... There are some places in Medina that I haven't tried yet. Does this help ? "Laissez Les Bon Temps Roulez" I'm sure some of my other rididng partners will have some good info to share.

Rode up to San Marcos this weekend to visit a friend going to school there.
Left the bike parked most of the weekend cuz the traffic is crazy in that town (had to lock the brakes up twice!).

Any good rides outside of town in that area..?? I might be going back in a month or so.

There are plenty of roads around here to ride. Our local students ruin the driving around San Marcos. If you head west from SM on RR12 will take you out towards Blanco. There you have Canyon Lake, Devil's Backbone, Wimberley. You can follow RR12 thru Wimberly, Dripping Springs, towards Lake Travis. Next time your hear give me a shout. Show you a couple of the local raods that a fun.

I had been kicking around the idea of volunteering, but now I have let the pre-registration deadline expire....
