Did the down there and back last year. That was a long day. We ate at The Big Fisherman between Rockport & Aransas Pass.

I like the idea of a overnighter. I work most Sat. till noon. We will have to plan this soon. Or it will be a hot ride there and back.

Trailer down
Ride around
Trailer back

Time on the highway sucks anyway.

My suggestion would be to do it on an overnight basis. In the Rockport/Fulton area, I can recommend The Inn at Fulton Harbor which is very close to another place I can recommend as an eatery, Charlotte Plummer's, also in Rockport.

Going down there and coming back the same day, IMO, equates to something like an IronButt ride - not something I'd volunteer for. Overnight is more my style. Just my .02.

In this thread?
One thing I have learned in all my years......never say never.
It's just (even yet).....another tool, and there when you need it, or even WANT to use it for whatever reason.

I guess I'd rather "trailer" my broken or disabled machine, than push it

I have one in the back yard. It is enclosed setup for hauling the wideglide. I have used it to haul the WG to the mechanic a couple of times. Sits more often. Wonder why I still have it. Thought about selling it. But to replace it would cost twice as much as what I have in it.

I regret selling my last one that's for sure....luckily, it didn't cost me an arm and a leg to replace it though.
I'll have it as long as I have my machines though.....maybe someone will end up with a "package deal" someday!!!
They ain't eating no hay, and worth their weight in gold.....for when the need (or want) arises.

I agree totally, and I like your style. I've done the grind down I-37 to Rockport/Port A, with the heat and bugs before, more than once, and I can say that being inside an air-conditioned vehicle beats that. I got over the need to prove anything to anyone long ago.

Trailering leads to more gracious living.
