For anyone that likes cars and looking for something to do this Saturday, come out to Cabela's in Buda. My car club is having out annual car show, last year we had well over 100 cars show up and it rained most of the day. We are expecting closer to 300 this year and word on the street is Jesse James may have one of his cars there.
There will be some dragsters there doing a cackle fest, some vendors, US Army rock wall, a DJ and live music. There will be a silent auction as well as door prizes.
All proceeds from our show go towards a scholarship for a student in the automotive program at Hays High School. Last year we awarded $2,500 to a student that is now at UTI in Houston.

If I get out from under the hood of this Stratus anytime Saturday, I'm going to do a couple hour local loop, then hit the patio and do several reps of 12 oz curls. I have always wrenched on my on autos, but this is my first trans-axle... it may be my last. This thing has been an uphill battle all the way. I am learning why the mechanics charge soooo much to work on these things... d@mn !!!

No, thank goodness. But now that you mention it, since I have the front end torn down so much, I might ought to while I'm in there.~~ Nawwwwhhh I think I'll hope they last a little longer, and start saving my money now to pay someone else to do that job
Our daughter called me a said while idling, it would get hot....then cool down to normal... and repeat that cycle about every 10 min or so. I figured it was low on coolant or had a sensor about to fail. It was low on coolant, so while idling and waiting for the thermostat to open I heard what sounded like a bad bearing about to really take a dump! Turns out it was not the idler pulley (that I suspected), it was the A/C compressor. Looks like the condenser coil sprung a leak and the compressor ran without lube and had an internal melt down. So while I'm there I will replace the belts (a real B*&ch), the idler pulley (before it does crater), the radiator hoses, and hose clamps. Those spring clamps aren't worth a d@mn ! That's all, nothing really major, just time consuming.
