glad you made it safely, so far. hopefully, the rest of the trip will be uneventful.
for me, that's a scary bridge - even in a cage, I suffer from Gephyrophobia - fear of crossing bridges.
maybe I missed it, why are you going to Rucker?
I am attendeing the Joint enroute care course- learn how to properly/better transport critically ill/injured soldiers in helos. I am prepping for deployment to Afganastan in the Jan time frame.
Good to hear you’re doing well and the bike is treating you right. My first encounter with the Mississippi River Bridge on two wheels was also a memorable experience. It was a light rain, with moderate traffic flowing at about 50 MPH. I had to tell myself to relax, put the tires in the metal row and just lightly held the bars, until we got over.
Enjoy your TDY at Rucker..
Yea, I had a couple of critical/danger points I was concerned with one being the MRB due to weather/traffic concerns-turned out a none factor but a pretty good workout-squats anyone. Plus side is a was a able to get some pics with the camara-will have to download to see if they came out. Another big negative for the aMRP was LSU had a home game the stadium is basically at the base of the bridge. Stay tune for part deux.

I ran into similar circumstances coming home from Alabama last year. LSU home game, constant drizzle, five o'clock traffic and the Hammond construction on 12. 10 miles in 2 hours. But I was in the relative safety of my Coupe, though.
Ride safe, Troy and let us know how you're doing!
Got a new Sundowner seat, gonna take the wife out tomorrow for a test ride. Will be at Luchenbach at some point. Anyone else riding tomorrow?
I can't make it. Flew in yesterday from vacation and I am beat. Gonna stay at the house and try to find the correct liquor combination to produce a self-induced coma. The trick will be timing the return to consciousness before 5AM tomorrow morning.
the avatar is a UH-1M gunship. I flew UH-1B, H, & M, OH-58A & B and AH-1ECAS. I was a maintenance test pilot and safety officer.
you?
I am just a lowly ER/Trauma nurse now but in a previous life I was a crewmember (MI) I did time in RV/OV-1 Mohawks (korea 86-87) RU-21's (Texas 87-89) and RC-12's (Honduras and Orlando 90-91 and 94-95). Don't do the math I had a ten year break in service.
