I was thinking about a relatively short ride this Sat. 9/13. Here is what I had in mind, but am open to suggestions:

79 south thru Florence to Catalina
Breakfast
77 north to 70
70 to 60
60 thru globe and back into town

Should be a little over 200 miles. This is a low ride, so should start pretty early to beat the heat, like around 6AM. Should be done by 11AM.
Any takers?? Dean, this would have you ready for your 1k next week.

Dean's got his son this weekend and I have a pre-ride meeting for the Ironbutt ride Saturday at 10:30 am, otherwise I would go with you.

 

I have my son as Joe indicated. I was thinking about a Sunday evening ride. Zoli and I went out 60 to Florence Junction and 79 south to Florence last Sunday. Stopped at the Riverside for a drink and came back the same way. It was nice and cool. I drop Braden off at 7PM and could be ready to leave by 7:30. We are planning on doing this again or something similar. Anyone want to join us?

 

I'll bet you can convince Joe to join you.

As for me, what time do you plan to get back? I have to get the kids to bed for school, and I have an early client on Monday.

 

Can you do that ride the following weekend? I'm heading up to Vegas on Friday for a guys trip (you know, drink cheap whiskey, smoke cigars, and chase loose women!), but that would be a nice ride the following Saturday. 2of2 sounds like he would be more likely available (and joe and donna seem pretty flexible to do both Saturdays! ) We could probably get route2null out next Saturday also.....

Watch out for those loose women... go ahead and chase them, but don't catch anything.

Hey Joe can you give me a report back on the IronButt meeting. I will not be able to head that way due to having to work Saturday. I am all signed up and did my research so I think it should be pretty straight fowarded mandatory stops on the corners and gas stops in between. Should be fun. You got any idea how many will ride in the group yet. I will be heading up Fri afternoon goin find a motel close to apache junction. Any Ideas?

 

There are at least three of us going together from AJ. No idea how many others will start from there.

I'll pass along anything that is in the meeting that isn't covered in the handouts. I really think the main focus of the meeting is fundraising - but I could be wrong.

There are a couple of Motel 6's near Chester's HD in Mesa (by I-60 and Country Club). If you stay there I can meet up with you for the ride to Superstition HD.

If you are referring to the Catalina ride, I do that ride all the time and am always available for it. The following weekend (9/20-9/21), Joe is planning a bit longer ride up north. See other thread. I just thought others might like to join me on this short "off weekend" ride. As for the Sunday nite ride, from Queen Creek I could just meet you guys at the river bottom for a couple of cold ones.

I'm in for any ride except Saturday morning because of that meeting.

I do have to stay in cell phone range this weekend because I am on call at work.

Just got my 20K service done and a new rear tire - time to break it in.
