I'm here in Lake Jackson and I take the toll bridge from San Luis Pass to The Island. The Blue Water Highway is a nice ride to the rally. If you're RV'ng, there's also an RV park just before the toll bridge. To my knowledge they don't jack up rates for the rally. If you have some trouble finding a room for the rally, there are some chain hotels around here but it's about a 45 minute ride to Galveston from here. And yes, Gaidos is one of the best seafood places on the seawall. Also, take a look at Fish Tales on the seawall. They have great food and it's cheaper than Gaidos. Hope this helps
