Planning a trip to the cliff dwellings from El Paso on the 4, 5, &amp\\; 6 of july. Will Be traveling thru Columbus, Deming, Silver city, Gila Hot Springs, NM. Return trip will be thru Mimbres, Hillsboro, Hockett, Hatch,and &nbsp\\;Las Cruces, NM. and back to El Paso. Any Sugestions on places of interest to visit and road conditions , etc.&nbsp\\;&nbsp\\;&nbsp\\;&nbsp\\;&nbsp\\; Thank You.

 

Eat at the Hillsboro General store, will be great.&nbsp\\; I know there is some roadwork from T or C to Hillsboro, watch the gravel.&nbsp\\;&nbsp\\; This time of the year rain is not as bad as the run off and water build up in the low spots.&nbsp\\; Also watch for cattle and wild animals, javalina, deer, and coyotes are all over the place.&nbsp\\; Back thru Cruces take hwy 28 and stop at Severo's in La Mesa, a good bike hangout cold beer and good food.&nbsp\\; Enjoy the trip.&nbsp\\; Jim in Las Cruces

 

If you find yourself just south of Socorro in a town called San Antonio, NM, make sure to stop by The Owl.&nbsp\\; It's a famous bar with great burgers.&nbsp\\; I went to school at NMT in Socorro.&nbsp\\; I really miss the SW.

Eat at the Hillsboro General store...I second that motion. great food. don't forget to visit White Sands..interesting place, If in Alamogordo go to Maria's, best mexican food with some green chili sauce that will pep you up.

I made almost the same trip on Memorial Day weekend.&nbsp\\; Eat at the Buckhorn in Pinos Altos.&nbsp\\; Avoid the road from Pinos Altos to Lake Roberts unless you like riding nasty switch backs.&nbsp\\; The drive from San Lorenzo is great to Lake Roberts is great. North of Silvercity is a town name Glenwood, they have the Catwalk go check it out.&nbsp\\; Great ride from San Lorenzo to Hillsoboro down to Lake Valley, Nutt, Hatch and the old highway from Hatch to Las Cruces.........never been in the area!

Either the Owl Bar or Mannys in San Antonio is great for green chili cheeseburgers. Out of your way, but the ride from Quemado to Socorro is a great ride as well.&nbsp\\;If it were me, I would&nbsp\\;ride from San Antonio over to Carrizozo&nbsp\\;up through&nbsp\\;Ruidoso to Cloudcroft&nbsp\\;then through Alamogordo back to El Paso.&nbsp\\;But if you live in El Paso you have probably rode that country.
