The end of March I will be riding from Houston, TXto Albuquerque, NM and back a few days later. My only requirement is that I go through Midland, TX on the way there or the way back to visit some old friends. I have lived all over Texas so I know most of the roads here, but am clueless where the good rides are in New Mexico. What is the weather like in NM that time of year?

Any suggestions for routes are appreciated.

 

The weathershouldn't be too bad at the end of march. It may be a little chilly in the mountains tho, Ruidoso is a must. I like riding US 82 from Artesia up to Cloudcroft, then riding up thru the Reservation up to Ruidoso. Hwy 34 to Carrizzo is also a good ride. From there, it is kinda flat and boring to Albuquerque. There is a lot of good riding up around Albuquerque (especially north of there), but I have only been up that way a couple of times, and am not very familiar about where to go. Maybe someone from that area can let you know where the good rides are up there.
