I have heard about the Yellow Rose Canyon.
This looks like an "Old School Biker rally". It's looks like fun and at a good location too.

It looks about a three hour ride from me. I'm gonna check with some riding buddies and see if they're interested in going.

Born Free rally
I'm still looking into the Born Free rally. It's a 4 day 3 night event.

All the cabins are booked up. There are RV spots with full hook-ups if your into that.
Then there's tent camping. They have 4 stall showers for women, and 4 stall showers for men.
The closest motels are 13 miles away in Henderson. It looks like there are 6 hotels to choose from.

I went last year and it's a nice event. All the usual things, vendors, bike shows and swap meet. I haven't decided if I'm going again this year because I have a lot going on in October. Check, but I can assure you cabins are sold out by now. Lots of camping space for those who do not have RV / campers.
If you don't camp, closest hotels are in Henderson which is about 18 miles on Hwy 259. Lots of 2 lane black top roads for riding in east Texas.

It looks like all my rowdy friends have settled down; none will commit to this event.
If you guys don't mind a "ride along", let me know and I will ride my carbureted WideGlide and meetup with you somewhere along the way. I have friends in Ben Wheeler that I'd like to visit on my way back.

If I go (no definite plan yet) it would most likely be, 2 days and one night, paying admission at the gate. So, I could do either camp, or hotel in Henderson.
They do have a couple of shower stalls onsite, and they close the gates each night at 8pm (I think) so there's that to consider.
I'm thinking at that time of the year we'll have daylight hours, Sunrise and Sunset about 6:30am to 6pm.
There are six (6) hotels in Henderson, including one "drive up motel" called "Economy Inn", where you park in front of your room. So, getting a room should not be a problem.
