Default Boerne Texas Area

I am coming to ride the Twisted Sister in Texas this weekend and was wondering if someone had any other rides for me? I was thinking of riding around Canyon Lake and was wondering if there was a preferred route around there.
Just thought I would get some ideas? I will be leaving from Baton Rouge, Louisiana this week!

Thanks in advanced.

One interesting stretch, is Highway 16 from Bandera, Tx, to Kerrville,Tx. Pick your own route from Kerrville to the sisters. All of the secondary roads in that area have something to offer. Wildlife is plentiful, so be careful.

As long as you stay away from the city, pretty much good riding everywhere..

Bandera, Kerrville, Luckenbach, Boerne is a nice and popular area.

Boerne seems like a city now (basically an extension of San Antonio), so staying out of Boerne proper would be my suggestion. Busy town and lots of construction usually going on on I-10 @ Boerne. Not Houston busy, but not a small town deal anymore.

Kerrville is a good hub for the hill country riding. Lots of lodging and eating there. Highway 16 is a good suggestion, and the sisters are fun too. Check out Bent Rim in Leakey for lunch or beers or both. Don't know as much about the canyon lake area, but maybe some others members will chime in.

If you're just riding look up Alice Spring Cafe, it's out of the way but a good place for lunch with an hour or 2 rides on each side. We loop it from the Guadalupe, to Luckenbach, and around.

I think TSheff's auto-correct got him, the cafe I think he meant to type was "Alamo Springs Cafe"

Correct, ALAMO Springs. Great burger with home made Jalapeno buns.
Our last ride and forever memories, my best friend (passed away August/21) and 3 others and I all rode in to Alamo Springs Cafe and parked in the shade of the oak trees, as it was a hot day. We all got off and started in, he was always one to lag behind. We all turned around just in time to see him looking toward the ground and walk straight into a low hanging limb.

It was a great trip, the only time he had done the Sisters, Luckenbach, Alamo Springs, Gruene, the Guadalupe, or any Hill Country ride. Make those rides with friends, never know which one will be the last.

Junction is a good place to stay too... take a ride up to Driftwood for some great BBQ at Saltlick. Hit Mac and Ernies in Tarpley! Drop by the motorcycle museum in Vanderpool... Stonehenge II... tons of places to eat at and see...
