I have a ride mapped out that I am going to do on Good Friday 04/03 that starts in the Tailgators parking lot around 8am and ends at Backwoods about 350 miles later. If anyone is interested PM me for a number and I'll firm up a time for KSU.



I haven't done this ride before and am relying on GPS for the entire ride. I have planned this so that it goes through the San Angelo National Forest, Davy Crockett National Forest and the Sam Houston National forest as well as crossing over Lake Sam Rayburn and Lake Livingston. Should be a nice day to ride as well. Feel free to join in or just use the map and do your own, either way I am riding tomorrow.

Thats some really nice riding in those areas, you're going to enjoy it, wish I could make it.

 

doh, wish I could make it but I"ve already got a tee time that morning...I hate when my 2 hobbies conflict!

 

Me too, between riding, shooting and golfing I barely have time for beer.

 

I intentionally picked some remote roads, some even not on Google Street view so I checked both ends to make sure they were paved. Might end up having to rerout on the fly but still looks like a pretty interesting ride with a few small town stops.

 

How did the ride go? Wish I saw this earlier. Would have loved to have gotten out.

 

It was good, no rain and the temps were great. I think I need to work on breaking up the route a little better, there is only so much forest that will keep you interested and we were at the limit but every once in a while we would ride by a major lake so wasn't too bad.

Ended up riding 380 miles total. It was a great day to ride!
