RE: Heritage Rally Cancelled????
Just read the same thing after I was alerted by a buddy who was planning our trip, I think this may be BS. What could have happened that would cancel the event.. I guess now MBBW will be an even larger event, it just suck getting there, just no direct highway with a stable speed limit...

RE: Heritage Rally Cancelled????
I think it has to do with $$. Each year the prices got higher, and the # of vendors shrunk. There has also been some other problems. Charleston doesn’t really support the rally, and Mayor Riley doesn’t like the bikes in his town. This has had some impact, even though the rally is not in Charleston, but in Ladson. Local riders have had trouble with the city on other occasions with parking and exhaust. I don’t think it’s bad blood between the Myrtle Beach and Charleston dealers because I have always heard they are owned by the same guy. I know for a fact that the Charleston dealer sends their bikes and some of their sales staff up to the other stores for the MBBW.

Terry, Myrtle and Charleston are one in the same, same owner Phil Schoonover.
There is financial issues and litigation. Much of it from his other businesses. I guess if you owe some people in the bike community, you can blame them for your misfortune.
Last years Rally totally sucked. Previous 2 years were better.
