I didn't go last year, but did for a few years before that. Now that I've moved to NC, I plan on going this year. I'm going to have the wife trailer the bike down, and I'm taking our boat down the ICW from Carolina Beach to the Barefoot Landing. We'll use it as our "floating hotel" for 3-4 days, and enjoy the rally, as well as some boating in the area.
I hear it's still a fun rally, and no worries either north or south of the city. That's fine, because that's where everything is at anyway.

Why punish the "Rally promotors" just because the city of MB had to show their fannies? It's like punnishing all the children in the class when one kid misbehaves. My husband and I have a time share at Murrells Inlet. We go down several times a year. I never spend anytime in MB. That city is nasty and all you have is t-shirt shops and junk. There are plenty of things to do, many other beaches and plenty of attractions. Lots of rodes to ride. Everyone should swarm the place, not spend one red cent in MB and show them that they aren't the controllers. IMHO
