Looks interesting, May give it a try since they have ruined Cherokee Rally

 

Thunder Beach is the same weekend in Panama City Beach. The wife and I are looking to go somewhere that weekend. Maybe a back-up plan if we can't make it down to Fl.

As far as the Grand goes, it's been a LOOONG time since I've been there. But, I always thought it was a descent place to stay. Maybe 10-12 years since I've been there though. I usually stay at Chalet Village or some other home rental.

 

One of the Avy clubs I belong to had a "National" meet there in '08. From what I've been told, about 50% of the people wasn't impressed with the Grand.

 

Here are a couple of places that I like to stay when in the area.

Sleep Inn 1020 Parkway Sevierville, TN 37862 (865)429-0484
The staff is great here and it is also American owned.

Big Bear extended stay. This place has kitchenettes and is next door to the quality Inn and owned by the same family. (865) 225-1719. Another great choice and clean as a pin.

 

a little off topic, but we are planning to go july 4 week to that area of TN, 3 maybe 5 couples, any cabin rental recommendations? we want a nice clean place

We were thinking of going to the Cherokee Rally this year. Can you let me know why you think it has been ruined? I've never been , but I don't want to waste my time either.

 

The actual Cherokee Rally in the fairgrounds isn't much, IMO. A few tents of t-shirts and bike stuff and usually a burned out band from decades ago as the main headliner. The place is about the size of a football field...Bring your own beer. It's a dry county.
