i want to come to Mardi Gras for a few days of endless partying. I would like to stay dead center of the party, even better for a room overlooking the best the party can offer! Any info would be great since i kow nothing about New Orleans. The noisier the better and enough booze to kill a horse! Talk to me friends and give me some advice Thanks!

 

trigger-- this late, you won't really have much of a choice. the rooms fill up pretty early for the best party on earth. We've been 8 times, and have decided the Sheraton on Canal St is the best place... Close to the Quarter, great accomodations (get the concierge floor if you can...) and secure parking.

You might try www.vrbo.com and see if there are any rentals available. I checked a few days ago and there were still a few listed. Be aware that anything close to the Quarter will run you upwards of $250 night. And as long as it's close enought to stagger home, you're in good shape. (Our first year-- MGvirgins deluxe-- we stayed in a place over 2 miles from the Quarter-- NOT GOOD!)
