Just a heads up Tn. aint playing games with non-dot helmets. Couple of buds got tickets a few weeks ago on I-81 and today a guy in our group got one at a license check on hwy.321 in between Elizabethton and Mountain City. $189 bucks!

 

How is NC verifying whether a helmet is DOT or not? Just by the simple addition of a DOT sticker?

 

Heard but not verified that all it takes to change a DOT helmet to ticketable non-DOT is changing from D-rings to a clip quick release. Source was from out west... Colorado, Utah?? any others with this experience?
