Hi K,

I am riding out on the 7th. Will go 93 S to 495 to Mass Pike 90 to RT 84. Depending on traffic, I will choose routes around Hartford to Tappan Zee. Will go Jersey Turnpike to Delaware. Go thru Delaware via Rt 13 into Maryland to miss baltimore / DC etc.... I may cut over to 95 or do the Outer Banks on the 8th.

Or...just may bomb down 95 into North Carolina. Have not decided how quickly I want to get to South Carolina. It is a nice putt from NH.

Still have not figured out where I want to stay in South Carolina yet. Gotta get on the stick.

Mike from NH

Route 1? I know it starts in Maine and ends at the tip of FL. Would probably add a day or two to the trip though. If you're not on a time schedule, go for it.

Another way is to take 84 all the way to PA until you go 81 South to Rt 64 over to 95 in Richmond then 95 to SC.

This way has two tolls and is easier on the bike. This route adds 100 miles though one way.

Might as well stay on 81...take it to 77 and come down through Charlotte, then Columbia,SC then hang a left onto I-20east towards florence. It's like a big backwards question mark. lol

Default Alternate Route

If you are going to ride interstate highways and specifically 81South, I found it easier to take Interstate 66 from Middleton,Va over to 95 just south of Washington. It is a lot shorter than the Hwy 64 crossover and I have done them both. Use to travel up in that area on business.

I have no set time. I usually trailer and go down 81 but not sure I wanted to go that route if I rode the bike down

I have checked every practical way from NH to MB....its all the crap inbetween MA to VA that screws the pooch. My advice, trailer it till ya get to Lumberton NC. Drop the cage and trailer at the truckstop there and ride the rest of the way in.
