Winston Salem NC local ride?
Im new to the area, this will be my first riding season in NC. I have some friends riding in to visit this weekend, thought I would see if anyone could share any advice or routes in the area that are not too far, but a good 100 mile or so trip. Thanks for any advice!

find your way up to walnutcove. take 89 north.good little spot to stop is danbury. this takes you right past hanging rock st park.DO NOT SPEED IN DANBURY! barney will be looking for ya. either go into the park or continue north to hwy 66. take it south.to hwy 268 west. this will put you out in pilot mtn.take 52 south one exit and you can go up on top pilot mtn. or take it all the way back to WS. or... just stay on 66 south and bypass pilot mtn. watch yourself on 66.its gots a few spots that will bite ya. from the time you get to danbury all up and down 66. its nice and twisty. you will love the ride. hwy 89 will also take you to mt airy. if you miss hwy 66. but you really dont want to miss this one.

Ride by some bike shops and find a US rider news, and full throttle for north carolina .Good info in both on events and bike friendly places alnog with some usefull info. SEARCH carolinamcevents ,this is a top site for all things mc in our rideing area's. Go by kendall Johnsons shop too and maybe some info can be had there. There off the business i-40 now.

It was nice, pretty overcast and chilly last saturday. We made it north through walnut cove and danbury, then west to Pilot Mountain. After riding up the mountain to take a break, I could tell the girls were pretty cold, so we had to take 52 back into town instead of 66. So I have yet to ride that section, but it was great thanks for the advice.
