Planning a southern state trip from Michigan. I'm interested in checking out the Clarksdale area for some good blues music. I've a\\;ready searched here and checked tourist web sites, just looking for update info of do's and dont's. Thanks

 

Check out Tunica,Ms about 20 miles south of Memphis Tn (on hwy 61) for the best casino's East of the Mississippi. If you wager enough they'll throw in a free room for the night along with a meal. There are several good blues clubs in Tunica and on Beale Street in Memphis (original home of blues). Hwy 61 is also a decent ride, it's 4-lane through the Misissippi delta,

 

Be advised it gets VERY HOT here during the mid afternoon. So if you can avoid riding in the mid day it would be advised. It's not uncommon for the heat index to reach a 115+ with 70+ humidity during summer months in the delta. Mosquitos are horrible at night too - they'll tote you off and have a feast.
