magnoliarunner,

Nice ride. I'm in Oxford. Not really too close, I guess. What county are you in?

Make it to the easyrider show yesterday? I went and stopped by bumpus hd to let a friend pick up his new deluxe. He had a chilly ride home [sm=sick.gif]. I was almost glad to be in the truck.

How bout them rebels! I am in Raymond. Even though he was 96, sure was sad to lose Coach Vaught. How was the Easyrider's show? I have been the past several years, but last year was so crappy I decided not to go this year.

dtcoon,

I am from Washington County near Greenville.
Saturday I went to Bumpus in Memphis and in Collierville.
There were a few hardcore bikers out.
Then to Desoto County in Horn Lake, but they were closed for inventory.
It has new owners.
I went in my in truck.
Good trip, saw some new models.
I took my son, he's turning 24 next week.
Boy was he drooling.

I just replied to your other post about the easyriders show in Memphis. I see that you were here in town that day. Sorry that you missed it. I'm in Atoka just above Memphis myself.

Hey guys! I"m not from Mississippi but from South Georgia. My son and I take a bike trip every summer and were thinking about riding the Mississippi Delta this year. I have a friend that works with Delta and Pine Land as a seed rep and said that Greenville would be a good base. Any suggestions?

If it was me I would start in Memphis, ride to Vicksburg and spend the night, then ride on to Baton Rouge. If you are wanting to make more stops, I would stay in Clarksdale one night. Delta Blues museum and several good blues clubs. You have riverboat gambling in Both Vicksburg and Natchez. Tons of gambling in Tunica which is just south of Memphis. There lots of Civil War battlefields to visit in the area also. If you are wanting to base out of only one place, I would make it Vicksburg. That way you can go north and south on Hwy 61. More rooms and restaurants in Vicksburg that Greenville. Make sure you get a pic at the crossroads. Junction of 61 & 49. This is where Robert Johnson is to have sold his soul to the devil in exchange for becoming a blues man.

Thanks Jack: sounds like Vicksburg may be the place to go.

Be sure to check out Port Gibson, Mississippi. Its between Natchez and Vicksburg. If you want to find places to get some chow, try this link. http://www.roadfood.com
