Well once you get close to LBL you can take the "trace" as it is called that runs down the middle of the LBL. Just becareful lot's of animals crossing the highway like opposium, racoons, skunks, deers and such... Fort Donaldson is a nice stop...
Where are you looking to go and what do want to see?
I agree, the trace is definitely where you want to concentrate your riding. A Must stop is Patty's at Grand Rivers. It is Kentucky famous for their pork chops. Plus grand Rivers has a Harley outlet too. Its a neat little area near the northern end of the trace.
Your correct Most of LBL falls in Trigg county and it is dry. there are several connecting counties that are wet. Plus you can take hwy 68 and it is about 20 miles to the nearest drinks.
Greg, be sure and PM or e-mail us and we will try to hook up. I'll show you around and don't forget that Tennessee has a helmet law, that is on the South end of the Trace. There are some really neat places to ride in this area.
We are planning a ride to southern MO in late Mayto attenda true family "Redneck Wedding" and want to stop in this area on our return trip.We visited there many years ago and remember it was really beautiful. Can't wait to ride the Trace!
We visited LBL on our bikes in 2004. From our house to LBL and back was over 900 miles. It is well worth visiting. Plenty of wildlife to see. We enjoy taking back roads and seeing small towns.
