Default Howdy!

While I'm not in Western NC, I am (what I would consider?) in "Central" NC, in Winston-Salem. I'm actually a transplant as of 8 months ago from Philadelphia, so this whole landscape is new to me regardless. I missed riding the whole end of last season without my Softail Slim ~ and just got it shipped down here as of yesterday morning! I am so excited to explore more of the backroads and go on some nice rides, where I dont have to worry about potholes, but will worry about getting lost

I've been riding since 2005, spent my first 15 years on a sportsbike and managed to stay alive, so, I'll keep an eye out for any rides coming through or if some "Westerners" come towards WS or Greensboro, hit me up!

yeah ive been eating around the area, and my weight gain proves it! lol.
i am right off of 52/by 421 and the traffic sucks, and the drivers here are absolutely horrible (sorry, no offense to my fellow rider friends!)

so i am definitely looking for the more quiet back roads, sans traffic.

That's Oxford Dam and the bridge crossing the river from Catawba to Alexander County. My grandfather helped build that dam. There's good chow at Apple City BBQ about 4 miles on the left heading north.

They are open on Thursday, Friday and Saturday. Shoot me a pm when you come back this way and I'll meet you there for a meal.

Living in black mountain. Just a few miles from the BRP, but rarely ride it. Mainly because there are so many good and less crowded roads in any direction we go. I definitely recommend riding west in to the mountains. It's amazing what we have found on back roads.
