Hello USArmy,

I thought you might of been one of the first members to welcome me to the forum. What do you think of my ride?

US Navy Seabees
Hello Robert,

I haven't seen any "recent" pics of it but the last ones you posted a couple of weeks ago looked really sweet. Not sure I like the NT drag bars, but that's a personal thing. Love the look, its just thatmy arms are a tad tooshortfor them to be comfotable. I'm forced to bend overtoo much with them, like I'm riding a crotch rocket and that's not exactly what I bought a Harley for. Not to mention when it comes to pushing itaround the garage, bigger, wider bars make the job abit easier.

BTW did you ever figure out that white plug, lean running condition?
Did you get aSERT,PCIII, or something elseto richen the mixture up a bit?

See Ya round, and ride safe,
Frank

Hi Frank,

I like the NT bars. Actually I like the NT but, it was too much black on black. So I bought the FXSTC and went shopping. I have plenty of OE partsif any one is inerested in them. I willpart with them for the price of shipping.

I am 6' with plenty of arm and leg length. I am looking to put on a forward control but, I will loose my twisted shifter linkage. Maybe Tempest Cycles of Melbourne can fabricate one for me.

I have an appointment to have the SERT installed next week@ HD.

I attached 2 pictures of my bike. One picturenext to a NT and they are very much the same only my bike has alot more chrome. Love the black and chrome.

Not very good pictures from my cell phone.

Lou's Blues is a popular spot on the beach here in sunny FLfor us bikers to refresh ourselfs and listen to some good music.

Thanks!

Hey guys. I traded in my '05 Deuce that's in my signature for a vivid black '08 Custom. I'm a little depressed getting rid of a bike I loved so much, but I know the Custom will treat me good with the bigger motor and 6-speed transmission. The fun of customizing has begun again. I've got a short list of parts so far that I plan on ordering today when I finish up the paperwork at the dealership. I'll post some pictures as soon as I can. It probably won't be until next week sometime, though. Just wanted to stop in and say "Hi" to my new family.
I'm not sure how you can part with that really fine Deuce. Must be you can't think of anything else to do with a perfect bike and you, like me get a large part of your pleasure customizing. Mine is still very much a work in progress and I dread the day when I can't think of anything else to do with it.
Guess I'll have to get a new one and start all over.

Nice bike!

I almost bought the Softail Fat Boy. I like the Heritage also.

How do you like the Big sucker and Pythons? What do you mean by saying the pipes are open? Do you mean the baffles are removed? Do you have a SERT?

A1A, First, yes, the baffles are removed. It's carberated so I just had it re-jetted. Runs better than with them in but you can't do that on an FI. I have a friend that had the FI model and he wanted to run open but he had to weld a small, perforated baffle in his pipes near the heads to give him back pressure.

I like the Pythons and big sucker real well. No complaints.
I think the Heritage is ideal for me, but the Fat Kid is cool too if you put laced wheels on it. Can't handle the solid wheels. Too each his own.

I agee with the wheels on the Fat Boy.

I just purchased the round billet mirrors for my bike. The tear drop mirrors just did not go with the bike,

Nice bike Richie.

I like the paint and the solo seat. The spark plug wires goes well with the bike also.

I do like the bright colors. I have an 06 XL883Rin Mirage Orange.

I am lookin' forward to being able to start all over. It's fun goin' through the catalogs and websites lookin' for new parts. The Deuce was completely done and I was lookin' to start changing out stuff I'd already changed. But the main reason I traded was to get a bike that was more comfortable forboth me and my wife. After riding it on a few really short rides, I have no complaints at all and don't regret my decision. I'll have just as much fun customizing and riding this bike as I did the Deuce. I'm just gonna have to make this one better.
