RE: Softail Custom Pictures
Just lookunder parts for asoftail standard or night train. Same rear fender and back tire, etc. Probably not going to find them as fitting the Custom's since they came with the bolt on sissy bar as OEM equipment. They arein the catalog though, but I don't have one in front of me to look up Part #'s. I know I did see a footnote somewhere about having to change theseat if using the side plates for an 07' FXSTC, but wealready knew that.
I thought about making a rack for this one. Should be easy enough to make something simple and weld it on solid. Still might do it this winter. No more than it is on there, sure would be handy to have at times.

That's some nice lookin' paint!
I like that fender too. Where did you find it?

The fender was a blank that I cut. I originally cut it shorter but didn't like it. Here's some pics.
I painted the fender blank to match the stock paintjob.
I found out quickly that the fender was too wide. It was made for an aftermarket frame, not a stock one.
I cut it down to make the width correct for my bike.
I didn't like the length so I added more to it.

Masked off the flames...
Sad part is after I got it all done and finished, I decided it was too high off the tire so I took the assy off and welded the fender to the swingarm.
Of course, I STILL had to repaint it AGAIN when I found a flaw... unfortunately it was already on the bike and I didn't want to remove the assy for the 1000th time.
That's it... she's done. (except for a small hairline crackI found. I'll have to pull it all apart to weld it and repaint it AGAIN. [:@]

You guys have some awesome machines. I've had my new FXSTC for a couple of months now, and I just found this forum.
I know most of these are black, but I fell in love with the Cobalt blue. Had a tough time finding one too, but I think it was worth the trouble.
I'm looking for pipes. I really like the curved ones like the V&H big radius that Jwunger and MSgtJoe have, Paulca's 2 into 1, and Samson's swoopie. I want a nice low rumble, and a bit louder than stock is OK but I don't want to betooloud. I'd appreciate any opinions or suggestions. Thanks.
