Softail Custom Pictures
Well, here we go. After some time, I went to the dealer after my MSF road course today and camehome with my first Harley. A matter of fact, I haven't owned or riden a bike since I gave up racing some 32 years ago. Here's a picture I just took with the new bike smell still warm off the pipes from the ride home from the dealership. This should also be the last picture of this bare a** Cobalt Blue stock Custom before I start wrenching. Soon to be fitted will be a Heartland 200 fender/seat, Street Slammer bars and diamond braided cables. There's a few more items to come but that will be a good start. As soon as I have more done I'll update the photo.

Looking for help guys !!
I'm riding from England to the French Alps on my new Custom in 5 weeks time for my early summer trip. I fitted an HD detachable windshield to take the windblast of the shoulders on the autoroutes but above 70mph the buffeting around my head is just unbearable. It is so bad that it blurs my vision when trying to read roadsigns. I am 6' 1" tall and I have just had the screen cut down by a couple of inches but the problem seems to be just as bad.
Myoptions seem to be, (1) stay below 70mph for the whole trip, (2) take the screen off and do some weight training before the trip or (3) find a screen that works. Has anyone fitted anything that both looks good and keeps some the wind of your chest ? I don't really want the Heritage Softail look when it comes to windshields and thought the HD 'Sports' detachable that I bought would do the business. I've also tried various different helmets but still the same problem.
Any help appreciated guys. I tried to upload a picture of my bike and screen but for some reason it will not work. Thanks.

I use a windvest on my custom and it works great - no buffeting regardless of speed. And it looks good too. No dealers in Europe though but they ship to the UK, contact them at: www.windvest.com

2007 FXSTC Red/Black Pearl. Had it for about a week and a half, and have only put about 700 miles on it so far.
Initial mods include front turn signal relocation, rear turn signals to running lights conversion, retro king/queen seat (awesome seat! very comfortable!), & speedo/tach combo.
Traded in my 2000 Dyna Wide Glide for it, and boy am I glad I did. This bike is SO comfortable and smooth. Here is a pic from before the initial mods were done. I will be taking some new ones this afternoon and will post them up.
BTW... anybody running any Samson pipes on one of these yet?
Here is a shot of the trade-in too.

All right... Here are a few new shots.
Rich... I tried to include a close-up of the seat for you. Enjoy...
The seat seems a little stiff at first (compared to the plush couch that comes stock on the custom), and for really long (interstate) rides, I will probably swap the stock one back on... but for anything else, the retro seat is very comfortable. It drops you down "into" the bike more.
Thanks SgtJoe... Like the pipes!
