Welcome and congratulations! Good choice.

The exhaust would be a good place to start. Scan through this thread and the Softail forum and you'll find all kinds of ideas.

This one is for Customs not Heritage's.
Heritage's have their own section, want me to move it for you?

I just realized that I haven't put any pics up of my bike in here since last winter's "upgrades", and here it is (now with the roads covered with ice) time to start this winters changes.

Anyway last winters 'mod's' included a set of BR pipes, JetScream intake with round AC cover and matching horn cover, ThunderMax w/Autotune braided cables, new handlebars with integrated tach, moved the turn signals closer to the fork tubes, LED gas gauge, an oil cooler, new grips, and a ThrottleLocker. It already had the fork tube brace, rack and Tri-Bar taillight.

This winter I'm thinking of paint, but haven't decided what I want it to look like, yet.

WOW! Awesome looking Custom! Love the exhaust. I'm sure it sounds sweet. Can you tell me who makes it. Is the bag on the sissy bar made by Harley? I live in northeastern PA so I'll have plenty of time to get my bike ready for spring.

The pipes are V&H Big Radius and your right they do sound sweeeeeet. Especially since I put in the TMax and lowered the idle to 950. Now it sounds like a Harley at traffic lights, 'lumpy' idle and all.

The bag is just something cheap I picked up at a local shop that has since gone out of business. It has no label or brand on it and it didn't have a tag on it when I got it to say who made it. But like Mike joked your in no way the first to ask about it.
However I did promise that if I ever did figure out who made it i would post it up for all that wanted to know. But so far the only one I have ever found that is close to it is called a K51 by Hot Leathers. Its not made from leather like mine is (thin cheap stuff) but a PVC that looks like leather but is better than mine in that the material itself is waterproof. Even if the bag itself isn't.

Very funny, but your right, and I lost count back after the 6th or 7th inquiry.

I put the brace on before the bike had more than a couple of hundred miles on it, so I can't really say definitively that it made a big improvement in the handling.

But I have ridden other Customs, Nightrains, and Standards (same front forks) since then and when pushed hard (laid way over) in a turn they all to one degree or another had a disconcerting habit of wanting to "hunt around" a bit where mine feels more solid.

Ouch, that's a lot (regular price) for a little sissy bar bag. For that I would still go for the Hot Leathers model P51. Its only $29.95 (w/piping, but no studs) and even if it isn't leather, the PVC looks very good and being plastic is weather proof. Water could still get inside it, but the material itself won't be bothered by it.

PS there is a studded version and I think its about $10 more.
But I can't be sure the pics are not coming up on their web site right now.
