av8tr & live2ride thanks for the links i will try this week (again)
Disaster this weekend...i was bored on Sunday so i thought i would pull off that padded sticker that is under the seat, as i have gone solo it was a bit ugly.
Anyway i did not notice that part off it was stuck slightly on the gold creamy colour pin-striping so as i removed the final bit it pulled about 10mm of the pin-stripe with it, im gutted! So now i have to find out if the Dealership can repair it to my satisfaction, if not this will be the excuse i need to start thinking about my Paint-Job.
Had a look in the catalogue for this years colours and cant say i'm over-excited so gonna hope they come up with something better later in the year or will source my own design from a paint-shop (which are very rare in the uk). Thinking might be bestto go this way as it seems that the H-D paint jobs are just for the standard sheet metal and im thinking if i am going to go to all this bother i might install a front -fender similar to the one dan8411 has on his......need some extra cash now so off to the super-market to get a job stacking shelves for the summer part-time.

Damn! I think I would have started to cry! That really sucks. At least you'll wind up with something good out of the ordeal. Do you have any ideas for a custom paint job yet?

live2ride i did find it quite upsetting to say the least....but well now i can justify my paint job (sort-off).
Have already found a paint shop on the web that is interested in doing it , so now i just need to decide the theme of the paint but think i want some "real flames" somewhere on the bike and i think base colour will be black.
I can have some fun now designing it i suppose.

I love the look of real flames. I had white and light blue real flames over a blue base on my Deuce.

Hogdiver,
here is a link to a website I liked to check out back when I was thinking about a paint job for my sporty. I never used them but they have a good website for ideas. http://vividdragon.com

Also, does anyone have experience with the H-D Sport Windshield Kit for the Softail Custom p/n
91820-85A http://www.harley-davidson.com/gma/g...bmLocale=en_US

I was looking at it because of the price, but i don't want to get a crapy windshield.

SinCityHog

Look back a few pages on this post.

Live2Ride has a very kool Windvest that he preferred to the more expensive Harley windshield that he sold to me.

I think his was in the $350 range, the harley one was in the$450.

His looks really good! (so does mine, but taste differ)

Mike

Thanx for those links for paint-jobs, although i wont be able to use them over here there are some fantastic ideas to be looking at.
Still think im being drawn towards "real flame skull" style paintwork.
have already spoke to a few guys about booking in but it wont be until about September which suits me as i do not want any down time this summer (ours is short enough as it is)
Now need to source a wheel hugging front fender.
