The way I do it is put some 60 grit on the DA sander and hit them pretty hard. Sounds mean but chrome is tough like Chuck Lidel. Follow up w/ some hand work around all the brackets if ya have any. Clean them w/ a paint prep cleaner. Turn on the oven to like 200* Drink a beer and paint 3-4 coats, put them in the oven and drink a beer viola. If the wife doesn't like that stick a heat gun in one end while drinking that beer.

 

thanks brother, i scored the headlight and mount off of a 06 deuce for free. powdercoated them both then added the deep trim ring from the stealer to give it a longer look. while playing around with the mount i figured out that if i installed the mount backwards it pushed the headlight out another 1/2 inch.

Anyway I left at 2:30 in the afternoon and got home about 11:00pm... We did the poker run thing after the meet spot we rode to the Hardrock Cafe for the first stop, the second stop was at Diamondhead Lookout, the third stop was in Hawaii Kai at the Shack (a sports bar) the guy that supposed to be giving out the numbers had left already... WTF? Then we had to role back to the meet spot after something to drink and some nachos...
