I got the tubes from Progressive Cycle. When you get the regular style (not the new drop ins) they give you 4 - 1" springs to put on the damper tube. That's actually where you get your drop from in the regular spring kits. When you take your stock set up apart there is a 3/4" spring in that spot.To get 2" of drop you put in 2" of spring etc.I had the front end apart 4 times now just for the springs in different combinations. What I ended up with was the single 3/4" spring and the 2" tubes. It actually came out at -4" measuring from the bottom tree to axle centerline.I weigh about 205 and the front end action has more of gliding feeling than the spring feel.
I also used the Race Tech emulator valve(damper) which lets you adjust the pressure at which the fluid flows and controls that action of the front end.No more front end dip under hard braking not that I never do that. That was another 3 teardowns to adjust to my likeing.Shortening the tubes also does away with the wide glide wandering feeling stock Trains and Standards have. Not cheap by any means about 460.00 total with oil seals and fluids.I use a 50/50 mix of SE extra hd and heavy SE fork fluids but the front end is sooo smooth. It makes me more comfortable when I do stupid chit like this.G.

right tools 2-3 hours the first time.It really helps if you have an electric impact gun with a 3" 8mm allen socket for the lower tube bolt.A lot of people end up stripping that out and it's a mf to get it out once that happens.

twist......i can do it in 1/2 hour but ive done it many times........it pretty easy, and you could take the sliders off at the same time if ya wanted to powder coat em but that depends on your powder guys turn around mine took 4 days for media blast and powder......and i know you dont want anymore down time.......if ya want call me when you do the install and i can walk ya through it........it will handle sooo good when its done it will corner on rails........i have to pull mine apart again cuz i droped it 2 inches then i had a bad wobble and i thought it was the rake from dropping it 2 then i droped it 1 and still had the prob..........it ended up being a bad tire on the front so i gotta drop another inch.......was thinking about powder coating the trips while i have it apart again.......i have the same as G's set up(not the drop ins)..its a cake walk
