Here's the dilemma: Bought new Wild 1 Chubby Outlawz. During a dry-fit, I noticed that there is about 1" of 1" bar exposed between the clutch/brake bar clamp and the transition point between 1" to 1-1/4".
I want my clutch/brake clamp to fit flush against the 1-1/4" step, which would require me to cut an inch or so off of each bar end.
Has anyone done this? Doesn't look like a big deal, but was unexpected.

And I originally posted this in the Sportster section for some bizarre reason...

On edit- Received email from Wild 1, some grips are shorter than stock, so slicing an inch or so off of the end is OK.

This is the description of the brake line assembly taken from the magnum shielding web site.

"This non-ABS model utilizes a superior two-piece design consisting of a direct fit Designer Lower Assembly joined by a -3AN connection to the Designer Upper Brake line. This system requires two kits; one upper and one lower brake line kit.
This Black Pearl LOWER COMES WITH A CHROME MANIFOLD."

I will have to call on Monday but it looks like the lower assembly is $88.95 and the +3" front half is $51.95..... Looks like the caliper to the switch mount is one piece and then you order the master cylinder side as to what you would need (stock, +2, +3 etc).

Joe that's a two piece system that I don't quite understand on why it splits the lines even though it runs to one caliper. It also says "The user can choose any of the upper brake lines from our vast selection to fit most subsequent handlebar changes", so that's for a front anyhow.

If you start the search over for your bike, search for all colors and it will show the rear kits and that black can be ordered by calling them.

"This SCII Rear Brake Kit is stock for 2006 - All Softail Models.
Kits use OE style manifolds or universal T-blocks for a complete installation.
Exceeds all DOT FMVSS-106 Specifications.
The rear kits are available for non-ABS bikes only.
* Black Pearl kits are available with chrome manifolds and banjos only. To order a custom rear kit in Black Pearl or for more information, please contact Customer Service at 877-564-8248."

Thanks Jake. I've been busy at work with snow storm after snow storm and the 60mph winds we have had all this past week. Looks like I should have time to make a call to them on Monday.

Well G I finally spoke to Pat at LSC on the phone this morning after sending him the photos, (really friendly and helpful guy by the way) he has a few guys welding for him and he admittedly said that they aren't the most visual appealing welds he's seen come out of the shop but is 100% they won't have any issues regarding strength.

Because I live in Australia, the shipping cost is crazy for an item that size and weight (I paid around $200-$250 to get it here), otherwise it would of been a simple ship back and he would bring it up to speed at no charge. He was happy to do whatever it takes to resolve this, and I'm after a couple more parts from him so we came to an agreement he will help me with the cost of the new parts and shipping.

It's really nice dealing with guys like this, I have to say a lot of company's I've had to go through in the states have been some of the most polite and helpful people I've had to deal with. I will always return to them for business no matter the issues

That sux living on the wrong side of the world sometimes Ink.jk ha ha. Guess you could just bite the bullet and do what we were talking about earlier. You will probably come out the same with shipping on the new parrs and have peace of mind.
What else are you doing? This is the first winter in a long time I haven't got the bike ripped apart to change something. I just get go to the shop get on one and ride it.

Haha G sometimes with our laws here, namely the ones that make it hard to build custom frame bikes to anything but stock replicas of Harley's, I wish I was living in America. Why no mods this winter? Getting the bug done instead?

It's been a slow process collecting parts because a lot of things I want won't just bolt on, so I've been doing research and some guess work. A fair few parts have to be custom made or modified. I'm still stuck on what bars and what wheels.

Basically the frame, engine, tranny, belt drive, l and headlight are staying at this point. In short, it's going to have the springer, custom peanut tank, low spring seat, tank shift, smaller apes, wide ***, some nice custom pipes and a nice little swing arm fender. Paint I'm still unsure, keep going from keeping all black with some cool pin striping, to a bit of colour in the tins with a racy style theme

Paint it up Ink, you've already gone the all black route.
